Organization and holding of the international summer schools, specialist courses and seminars is one of main activity of the European Center for Peace and Development (ECPD) of the University for Peace established by the United Nations. Recently, ECPD organized and conducted the following events of that kind:

• Sixteenth ECPD International summer school on health management, with the main topic: “Health Management in Times of Change and Crises – Present Challenges and Problems”. It was held in Milocer, Montenegro, on Jun 20-24, 2011. The School was attended by 34 participants from most of the Balkan countries. The School Co-directors and main lecturers were Prof. Dr. Hannu Vuori, a renowned expert and officer of the World Health Organization with rich experience in the South East European region, and Prof. Dr. Vlastimir Matejic, ECPD Postgraduate studies. The participants who passed their examination were granted a special, internationally valid Certificate.

• Third ECPD International summer school on cardiovascular diseases, with the main topic: “Risk Factor Control, Diagnostic and Treatment of Cardiovascular Diseases”. It was held in Milocer, Montenegro, on June 27^th – July 1^st, 2011. The School was attended by 16 participants from most of the Western Balkan countries. The School co-directors and main lecturers were Academician, Prof.Dr. Miodrag Ostojic.Director of the Clinic for cardiology, Clinical center of Serbia, and Prof. Dr. Nathan D. Wong, Director of Health Disease prevention program, University of California, Irvine, Cal. Note: The School is accredited by the European Board for Accreditation in cardiology (EBAS) with CME credits for participants.

• Second ECPD International summer school on reproductive health promotion and care, with the main topic: Reproductive Health of Adolescents. It was held in Milocer, Montenegro, on June 27^th – July 1^st, 2011. The School was attended by 16 participants, from most of the Western Balkan countries. The School Director and main lecturer was Prof. Dr. Nenad Babic, national coordinator for reproductive health of the Republic of Serbia. The participants who pasted their examination were granted a special, international valued Certificate.

• ECPD International seminar on laser-therapy the seminar was organized and conducted within the ECPD program of Traditional Medicine and Acupuncture. It was held in Belgrade, Serbia, on July 8-9, 2011. The seminar director and main lecturer was Prof. Dr. Milica Lazovic, University of Nis, Serbia, The seminar was attended by 12 participants from Serbia and other Western Balkan countries.
